PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Dear Colleagues,
It is indeed a great honour to be the President of Skull Base Surgery Society of India and I convey my sincere gratitude to all the esteem members for having shown trust in me for the top post. It’s my proud privilege to serve the society in this capacity and I will do it to the best of my ability under the guidance of senior members of the society.
There has been tremendous progress since its inception in 1998, which is very obvious. It is truly a multidisciplinary society where neurosurgeons, ENT and maxillofacial and head-neck surgeons work in close association. This has resulted in tremendous development in endoscopic skull base approaches for many complex skull base lesions. Cadaver dissection courses and skill training makes an important part of furthering knowledge of young neurosurgeons and society has planned regular monthly webinars and regular courses for skill training. SBSSI also helps young neurosurgeons sponsoring skull base fellowships at premier institutes of our country.
22nd annual conference (hybrid) of SBSSI at AIIMS, Jodhpur was successfully organised at a very short notice due to prevailing Covid situation and we congratulate the organising team for this achievement.
We look forward to see you all during annual conference next year at NIMHANS, Bangalore depending on COVID situation.
Best wishes and Happy New Year 2022.
