SECRETARY'S MESSAGE
Dear Teachers Colleagues and Friends,
Namaste and warm greetings from the Skull Base surgery society of India.
I convey my sincere gratitude to all the esteemed members of the society for having shown trust in me and selecting me to the post of honorary secretary of this society. It’s my proud privilege and honour to serve the society in this capacity and I will do it to the best of my ability under the guidance of senior members of the society.
The 23rd - SKULLBASECON 2022 was successfully organized at NIMHANS, Bengaluru in November 3rd to 6th, 2022. The conference witnessed 364 delegates including faculty from across the globe. The society congratulates Dr. Indira Devi – Organizing Chairman, Dr. S. Dwarakanath – Organizing Secretary, Dr. KVL Narasinga Rao – Co-Organizing Secretary for the grand success of the conference. The highlights of the conference were the hands on cadaveric workshop on endonasal endoscopic skullbase dissection, microscopic temporal bone drilling and microvascular hands on suturing. Live surgery workshop was conducted with eminent national faculty performing 3 complex skull base surgeries with excellent demonstration of skull base dissection techniques. Prof BS Das memorial lectures were organized to commensurate Late Prof B S Das along with Presidential and SBSSI orations. In addition to the invited talks, there was a good response from many young neurosurgeons in presenting free papers and awards were given to the best papers and posters. There was also a dedicated half day symposium on Gamma Knife radiosurgery and 3D and 2D video sessions.
The 24th SKULLBASECON 2023 would be organized at Lucknow in October 2023, jointly by SGPGIMS, KGMU and RMLIMS with organizing Chairman- Prof Rajkumar and Prof BK Ohja and organizing Secretary Dr Arun Srivastava. The entire team is making tremendous efforts in making the conference a grand success.
I wish the society to grow further to help and guide many young neurosurgeons in this discipline.
